While working on a self-funded startup, it is easy to hit periodic days of burnout. A question I ask myself is "Am I (tired / disgusted / bored / frustrated) with a feature I have been intensely focused on building or do I truly need to step away?"
We live in an age with incredible technological power at the fingertips of focused solo developers and/or small group of dedicated colleagues. I often marvel at the stories on Indiehackers, Hackernews and ProductHunt of what could be accomplished by well-intentioned collaborators. After seeing case-upon-case of all that was possible, I set out on a mission to bring invaluable hiring tools and services to smaller companies.
As a solo or small-team startup, it's easy to fall in to the trap of overbuilding. We are surrounded by extraordinarily designed products and services from well-funded companies with hundreds of developers, product managers, and designers. It's a bit overwhelming and yet we still aspire to bring a differentiator to B2B clients' lives.
